I have just taken a new position in Paris and although it's an international scope and French is not required, I would like to improve my French skills in order to integrate better both at work and socially during the time in Paris and feel more confident and at ease in my day-to-day interactions.

Marta • HR Manager
Alumni

Marta's situation and the needs she expresses perfectly encapsulate those of our 360+ expatriate alumni and expatriate partners who are seeking to adapt to their new environment and integrate:

  • quickly improve their French proficiency;

  • better understand the culture around them;

  • prepare for everyday life conversations.

What's crucial is guiding them through the establishment and continuation of a personalized and structured learning routine for French language and culture, grounded in their everyday reality, tailored to their language level, compatible with their schedule, and yielding noticeable results quickly.

To accomplish this, we offer FLE programs that blend the expected objectives within the European Framework of Languages (from level A1 to C1) with the realities of daily conversations for an expatriate in Paris.

Based on over 10250 hours of classes delivered since 2017, our approach and teaching methods have enabled our students to advance 1 language level every 30 hours. 1
And what motivates our learners most to regularly attend their classes despite their busy schedules? 2
“All that is learned in class is directly reused or recognized in their conversations after class”! 3

Course Organization

Our programs blend face-to-face in person or virtual classes with additional challenges on our course platform.

  • 1

One-on-one or small group sessions of 2, led by a teacher in real-time

1 to 2 weekly sessions lasting 1 to 1.5 hours

    • In-person sessions, either at the office, at home, or in a café in Paris, La Défense, and nearby suburbs.

    • Online sessions via video conference.

1-on-1 or mini-group of 2 learners at a similar level, face-to-face with a dedicated teacher

    Monday > Saturday, from 8am to 8pm

The main focus of synchronous sessions with the teacher is to provide ample space for practice, while also introducing new concepts and incorporating time for feedback and evaluations.

    Outline of a typical class

    1h30
    Welcoming attitude and topic introduction

The learner grabs a coffee, settles in, catches up with their teacher, and discusses any recent challenges or exercises. Then, the teacher introduces the lesson theme and objectives interactively.

    Brainstorming

Getting started with a review exercise to help the learner focus, check their understanding, and, if needed, revisit key concepts covered in the previous session.

Introducing a new key structural concept

Using a brief scenario and an appropriation phase, learners discover or reinforce key structural concepts to enhance their French conversational skills.

Exploring key vocabulary and ready-made phrases

The learner actively engages with a carefully selected set of up-to-date vocabulary and expressions, dynamically and interactively, on the proposed theme. These are immediately applicable in daily life and commonly used by native speakers. They enhance pronunciation, explore cultural nuances, and learn effective usage.

Activities for reusing and appropriating in context

Using contextualized structural exercises, guided conversations, and real-life scenarios, learners practice new concepts and vocabulary in a supportive environment. This fosters comfort and spontaneity in real French communication. Personalized feedback and guidance from the teacher accompany each step.

Presentation of resources for further exploration and conclusion

At the session's end, the teacher offers a summary, overall feedback, and last-minute advice. They unveil the next session's plan, tailored to the learner's progress, and highlight available extra activities and (inter)cultural resources on our online platform.

  • 2

Online challenges and additional resources to be completed independently.

After each thematic session, the learner has access on our in-house developed online platform to course content, challenges, and supplementary resources related to the session. This allows them to review and continue mastering— at their own pace— the new concepts covered during the face-to-face session. Each challenge typically takes less than 15 minutes to complete.

After each session, the learner can track their progress and retain access to the content even after completing the program.

FAQ

I'd like a quote. How do I proceed?

If this is our first time working together, we invite you to schedule a consultation with us. During this meeting, we can better understand your needs, the target audience for the training, the individual's level of experience, and their availability. Following our consultation, we will send you a detailed proposal outlining the training program and a corresponding quote.

Where are the courses held?

Our training can be conducted at your premises, your office, the trainee's home, or a selected café within Paris and its close suburbs, including Saint-Germain-en-Laye. For online training, we utilize video conferencing tools like Zoom, Teams, Google Meets, and others.

When can individual lessons take place?

Our individual lessons are flexible and can be scheduled from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, Paris time (GMT +1). To ensure compatibility between the trainee's and teacher's schedules, we create a general provisional schedule in advance of the training.

What happens if the trainee's availability changes during the training?

If the scheduled lesson times become incompatible or the trainee requests a change, we can assign a new instructor to ensure the training continues smoothly.

Can my employees or their spouses share the same course?

Yes, our private courses can accommodate up to 2 or 3 participants simultaneously. In our experience, this arrangement works well provided the learners share the same language level and have matching availability for scheduling lessons.

What is your cancellation or postponement policy for courses?

Our goal is to provide our learners with a positive and productive learning experience. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we offer flexible options for rescheduling or canceling their language courses.

  • Rescheduling: learners are free to reschedule any scheduled lesson with at least 24 hours' notice. This allows us to adjust our instructors' schedules and ensure they receive uninterrupted instruction.
  • Cancellation: The total course fee will be prorated based on the number of classes the learner has already attended. An additional administrative fee of €99 (excluding VAT) will apply to cover processing costs.

How does the admission process work?

Our streamlined admission process ensures a smooth and efficient onboarding experience for new learners. Here's how it works:

  1. Initial Contact: You can provide us with the potential learner's contact information, or they can reach out to us directly.
  2. Initial Assessment: Our experienced pedagogical coordinator will schedule a video meeting with the learner to get to know them better, assess their current language proficiency level, discuss their learning goals, schedule preferences, and any questions they may have
  3. Confirmation and Enrollment: If the learner decides to proceed with our courses, we will send you a training agreement for your review and electronic signature or accept the enrollment request via EDOF if the learner is using their CPF (Compte Personnel de Formation)

Our goal is to make the admission process as easy and transparent as possible for both you and the learner.

How long does it take for our employee to access the desired training course?

Typically, once the training project is confirmed, it takes about one week for your employee to start their chosen training course (excluding mini-group courses which have specific starting dates). If the training is conducted through the Mon Compte Formation platform, please allow a minimum of 11 business days.

What resources do you offer to share your course catalog internally with our employees?

We provide a variety of options to help you effectively communicate our comprehensive course catalog to your employees. Our website features a detailed and user-friendly English version of our entire course catalog. This allows your employees to browse and explore our offerings at their convenience. We can create as well a customized catalog tailored to your company's specific needs and preferences. This personalized catalog can include the courses that are most relevant to your employees' roles and goals. ou can easily share the online or customized catalog with your employees via email, intranet, or other internal communication channels. Employees can conveniently contact our team directly through the catalog to inquire about courses, enroll, or schedule consultations. This streamlined process eliminates the need for intermediaries.
